We offer a wide variety of sports teams, charities and other societies to help students enjoy their time outside of studying while at university, and are all open to all, regardless of their abilities. We also pride ourselves on our amazing social calendar for the year! We're sure there's something for everyone!

A Message from the President

Welcome to the University of Birmingham Medical Society (MedSoc) website. With over 70 societies, sports clubs and charities, Birmingham MedSoc is one of the largest in the United Kingdom and is the largest single society at the University of Birmingham. We are an independent, non-profit organisation run by students, for students.

Central to Birmingham MedSoc is the ethos of inclusivity. All students at the College of Medical and Dental Sciences are encouraged to join. From those studying Biomedical Science to Dentistry, drinkers or non-drinkers, academics or sportsmen/women, indeed any student at the College is welcome! We also have members from other colleges, such as Physiotherapy students and the odd language student who just fancies a good time.

MedSoc has a lot to offer its 3000+ members, from an annual Ball held at the ICC arena, to extensive sporting opportunities, to charities and societies that take their members all over the globe - not to mention the jam-packed entertainment calendar and revision sessions put on every year. Birmingham MedSoc truly adds a lot to any Health Science Student’s time at the University!

Whether a current student looking for something new, a prospective student or a successful applicant, please have a look at everything Birmingham MedSoc has to offer you. If you have any queries or suggestions, please do feel free to contact the MedSoc committee, details for whom can be found here: 2019/2020 Committee. To keep up to date with Birmingham MedSoc, you can like us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter.

Best wishes,

Millie Jewell - President
