IMsoc

Hello and welome to the UBMS Immunology and Microbiology Society!

This brand new society for 2017 aims to shed some light on what can sometimes seem the mysterious worlds of microbiology and immunology. If you like bugs, plagues, and tropical diseases then come and talk to us! Lectures, revision, careers, and of course socials!

Through a series of guest lectures, we aim to provide MedSoc with talks detailing the exciting ground breaking research, in both fundamental biology and clinical medicine, being conducted at Birmingham and throughout the UK within these two fields. Peer led teaching sessions will be curriculum focused and specific to each course in MDS receiving immunology and microbiology teaching, supplementing your learning and revision. Our careers evenings will help you discover what a career in clinical or academic immunology or microbiology entails with presentations from current trainees and consultants talking about these exciting fields. Finally our awareness events will aim to highlight the disease burden of infectious and immunological diseases and raise funds to support efforts to improve prevention, detection and treatment of these diseases.

Anyone and everyone is welcome to attend our sessions and all the information you need will be shared through our Facebook page (Search: UBMS Immunology and Microbiology Society). Join to receive updates and details of events as well as how you can get involved in helping to run IMSoc.

We look forward to seeing you at our next event!
