AMECA
Join us at 'Virtual Fresher's fair' if you have any questions or would just like to talk to someone about the society. Hope to see you there!
AMECA stands for Alex's Medical and Educational Clinic in Africa. The purpose of the charity is to promote and provide sustainable medical education and care in sub-Saharan African communities. AMECA also provides bursary awards to medical, nursing and physiotherapy students to fund electives in African hospitals (members only). This charity, one of the University of Birmingham's Medsoc charities, aims to support AMECA by means of raising awareness and fundraising.
To start off the year, we will be hosting a Global Health Evening were students will discuss their experience intercalating in International Health, and other Global Health societies will showcase their student opportunities for this academic year. A focus for this year is to design and plan an annual trip to Malawi, so be sure to get involved in the decision-making process!
