The College of Medical and Dental Sciences Alumni Relations Office

Your relationship with the University continues long after your graduation day and part of the role of the Alumni Relations Office is to help you stay connected to Birmingham and each other.  We also love to hear from current students too and can put you in touch with alumni who have offered to be mentors or speak at career events for example.

We work closely with The Sands Cox Charity who help and support University of Birmingham Medics and Dentists, both graduates and current students.

Here are just some of the ways in which the Alumni Relations Office can help:

Current Students:

Mentoring
Careers Network has a mentoring scheme and the alumni office also welcomes requests from students who would like to be put in touch with alumni working within a specific field for careers advice.

Careers Events
If you are thinking of holding a careers or networking event and would like alumni to speak at it, we can help you find suitable people and contact them on your behalf.

Career Profiles
We are always updating career profiles of alumni on the website for the benefit of prospective and current students. Do take a look for inspiration!

Events and Reunions
We have a programme of events open to alumni which you can find details of on our online events calendar .

We would be delighted to hear of any reunions that you are arranging and we can also offer you help with organising your reunion – from offering advice on the type of event and venues, to arranging tours of the College buildings and putting you in touch with old friends.

Get Involved
We always welcome volunteers to help out and are grateful for any spare time you can offer. There are a number of ways you can get involved including speaking at a careers event, featuring in a career profile, mentoring a student, delivering a guest lecture, joining the Sands Cox Society or giving to one of our life-changing projects.  Do contact us to find out more about any of these opportunities.

Stay in Touch
We are always keen to hear from our alumni and we are happy to help you renew friendships and contacts. We are always especially pleased to re-establish contact with alumni who might not have been in touch with us for some time.

We are in touch with over 30,000 Medical and Dental Sciences alumni, but we need you to keep us informed of your up-to-date details to ensure you get invited to reunions, receive College publications and receive information on relevant news and events.
